Meet Nancy

Nancy Tuzzolino, Founder Dance4PlayDance4Play was founded by Nancy Tuzzolino in 2003.

Nancy has been dancing since 1996. She has become an accomplished dancer in a variety of social dances including: West Coast Swing, Hustle, and Nightclub Two-Step.

She began teaching dance in 2001, when she was invited by The Chicago Rebels Swing Dance Club to become a member of their teaching staff. Later that year, Nancy formed a business relationship with May I Have This Dance, Inc. and was invited to Co-Instruct selected Dance Intensive Workshops and teach at Buzz Nightclub on Sunday nights.

The following year, Nancy was asked by The Chicago Rebels to serve as their Director of Dance Education programs. In this role, Nancy was responsible for developing courses and dance curriculums for the club's members and for promoting dance education to the local dance community.

Nancy is no stranger to the competitive dance world. She has traveled around the country participating in dozens of dance competitions in West Coast Swing and Hustle, and has received numerous top 3 placements in over 25 competitions she’s competed in since 1996, including US Open Strictly Swing Champion in 2004. In addition to competing in the Classic Swing division with partner, Jim Becker (Chicago XDance), she is also a proud member of the Midwest Rebels Swing Dance Team (US Open Champions, 2004; Dallas Dance Champions, 2006).

Although her passion is dancing, Nancy has spent most of her career working in the corporate arena. Her expertise lies in Training & Development, Team-Building, Leadership Development, Marketing and Strategic Planning. Nancy’s background provides her with a unique understanding of curriculum/program development, learning styles and group dynamics, all of which are vital to being an excellent instructor.

Nancy is a firm believer in “continuous improvement,” and that is why she continues to travel around the country, not only to compete, but also to take coaching and training from top professionals in West Coast Swing and Hustle. Nancy is also a graduate of Skippy Blair’s Dance Teacher’s Intensive Training Program (2001). Nancy has also been studying with WCS legend, Mario Robau, Jr., and has taken his weekend intensive in 2005 and 2006.

Nancy enjoys working with individuals as well as all sizes and types of groups, and especially enjoys working with children (elementary to high school age). She really loves working with beginning dancers, as it is exciting to watch their progress and help them develop a greater appreciation for the “art” of social dance.

Nancy is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she received her B.S. in Finance in 1995 and her MBA in 1997. She serves as a Board Member on the Dean’s Business Advisory Council, and is also a member of Leadership Illinois, a professional women’s organization. Nancy currently works as a Community Service Representative for a company called Home Instead Senior Care which provides non-medical caregiving services to seniors in their homes.
